Parliament’s 16th Legislative Term Ends

National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim adjourned Thursday the Parliament’s 16th legislative term, to be reconvened in October.

In a statement, Al-Dustour news network stated that the Secretary-General of the National Assembly, Adel Al-Loughani, read Decree No. 139 of 2021 to adjourn the session during the meeting scheduled to present the state’s financial status in accordance with Article (150) of the Constitution. Earlier today, Speaker Al-Ghanim emptied Abdullah Al-Salem Hall from attendees to discuss the government’s request to consider the state’s financial situation in a secret session.
