One-day State Mourning In India Today For Hh Amir's Death

One-day state mourning is being observed across India today as a mark of respect to Amir of Kuwait, late HH Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, who passed away on September 29.

The National Flag will be flown at half mast today on all buildings throughout India where it is flown regularly. Also, there won't be any official entertainment today.

The Indian embassy in Kuwait urged all Indians to observe two minutes silence at 11 A.M. today to join the 1.3 billion of their brothers and sisters in India to pay homage to the departed leader. All officials of the Embassy and that of the Indian Public Sector Undertakings in Kuwait will also observe two minutes silence at 11 A.M. on October 04, 2020.

After his death, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had expressed his condolences describing him as a ‘beloved leader of the Arab world and a close friend of India’. Prime Minister Modi said the late leader played a leading role in strengthening bilateral relations and always cared for the Indian community in Kuwait.
