Officials Who Fail To Submit Their Financial Disclosures On Time Could Face Penalty Up To 3 Year Imprisonment And Dismissal From Their Jobs
Secretary General of Kuwait Anti-Corruption Authority Ahmad Al-Remaihi affirmed that officials who fail to submit their financial disclosures on time could face penalty up to three-year imprisonment and dismissal from their jobs, reports Al- Anba daily.
He said, out of the 7629 officials listed for submission of financial disclosures, only 2011 have so far declared their assets, adding that the registration procedures of about 4,550 officials have not yet been completed.
Al-Remaihi explained that those who were listed for the submission of financial disclosures based on their work positions have time until March 29, 2016 if their positions remained unchanged one year after the executive bylaws were issued.
However, those whose positions changed after the bylaws were issued, making them eligible for submission of financial disclosures, they have to declare their assets within 60 days. Those who continue in their positions have to keep updating their financial disclosures every three years within 60 days.
