Nine Kuwaiti Citizens Held With Weapons
Nine Kuwaiti citizens were arrested in possession of unlicensed weapons during inspection campaigns conducted by the General Department for Weapons Investigations on various roads. According to security sources, the department obtained permission from Public Prosecution to conduct inspections and check for unlicensed weapons on Abdali Road and surrounding areas, Salmi Road and surrounding areas, and Artal Road until Wafra Road and the surrounding areas on both sides, in line with Law 6/2015.
The department officers also arrested two Kuwaiti citizens after receiving information about their possession of unlicensed weapons. One of the Kuwaiti citizens was arrested in Riqqa area while the other was arrested in Rawda area in possession of machine guns, pistols and other rifles. Director of General Department for Weapons Collection Major General Faraj Al-Za’abi affirmed that such inspection campaigns will continue in all areas, urging all Kuwaiti citizens and expatriates to report any individuals in possession of unlicensed weapons for the sake of the country’s and the people’s security.
