Next Batch Of Astrazeneca Vaccine To Arrive Today

The next batch of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine will arrive today from the parent company, Al Qabas daily reported.

Around 400,000 doses will be supplied to the Ministry of Health for immediate distribution to vaccination centers, which will contribute to expanding the current vaccination campaign and speeding up the pace of vaccinations.

The Oxford vaccine would be given to those who received the first dose of it since mid-February.

Health officials affirmed the Ministry’s keenness to set appointments for receiving the second dose  of vaccination to citizens and residents who have received the first dose of the Oxford vaccine, not more than 4 months ago

They also confirmed that the arrival date of the fourth batch of the Oxford vaccine will be mid-July, with more than 600,000 doses. This will accelerate the country’s steps towards achieving herd immunity as soon as possible.

They stressed that the vaccination campaigns in Kuwait and most countries of the world have changed the course of the epidemic, due to the effectiveness and safety of the vaccines.
