New Version Of Kuwait Finder App Launched For Smart Devices And Computers

Public Authority for Civil Information (PACI) announced on Sunday the launch of a new version of the Kuwait Finder app on smart devices and computers, which includes a set of new features and functions. The director-general of the authority, Musaed Al-Asousi, said in a press statement that the launch of the new (Kuwait Finder) version came at the request of the application’s vast user base and paying attention to their notes and requests, pointing to an integrated team to follow up and review notes on a daily basis.

Al-Asousi added that due to the increasing use of the (Kuwait Finder) program on office devices, the authority decided to present a completely new version of the program, which was developed in the latest programming languages, taking into account the security aspects and best practices in developing the application in a way that allows the user a smooth and comfortable experience when using.

He also explained that a new version of smart devices has been launched to support the updates made to operating systems and take advantage of the capabilities of these systems, as many of the functions in the application have been added and improved. He mentioned that among them is the addition of linking with the (WhatsApp) application so that the addresses that are shared through it can be opened directly on (Kuwait Finder) and the possibility of linking other systems and applications with the (Kuwait Finder) application in an easy and simple way.

He explained that a picture-in-picture feature was added during navigation mode (Android devices), showing the options for the available routes to the user, improving the performance and consumption of the battery, the possibility of adding the work site and the home more easily, the possibility of locating and accessing the car park and supporting the latest versions of operating systems.

He pointed out that the process of developing and improving (Kuwait Finder) is based on analyzing data and data and studying user behavior, pointing out that there has been a significant expansion in usage over the past year, as the number of application downloads reached more than one million and fifty thousand times and that the average daily active users is 171 thousand users.

An increase of 32 percent compared to the beginning of January 2020. Al-Asousi stated that more than 25 million searches are executed every month using Kuwait Finder, in addition to using the various functions provided by the application. He expressed his happiness for the success and acceptance of users of the surround imaging feature (StreetView) provided by the (Kuwait Finder) program, which covers all roads in the State of Kuwait, explaining that this feature was used at a rate of 8 million times per month during the year 2020.

He indicated that the authority is currently updating pictures in various regions of Kuwait through its cadres and equipment at no cost, indicating that more than 4,500 kilometers of streets have been modernized, as Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governorate and most of the Ahmadi Governorate have been completed and Sabah Al-Ahmad City is currently being completed. He stated that the authority seeks to complete the updating of the pictures of the streets of the State of Kuwait completely by the end of July 2021 in order to provide and establish a historical record of the development of roads and construction in the country through images.
