Municipality Trucks Removing Waste From The Roads
The Waste Disposal Department at the Kuwait Municipality branch in the Capital Governorate launched several inspection campaigns targeting shops, restaurants and warehouses in Sharq, Qibla and Shuwaikh in order to verify validity of foodstuffs served to citizens and expatriates, reports Al-Seyassah daily.
These campaigns resulted in the confiscation and disposal of 2.25 tons of expired foodstuffs and issuance of 176 citations for various violations. Head of the department Ahmad Al-Mutairi said the inspection teams will continue checking all areas to uncover violations and to strictly enforce regulations. He revealed 2.25 tons of expired foodstuffs were confiscated while 60 citations concerning food products were issued in addition to 116 citations for advertisement-related violations.
Meanwhile, the Public Relations Department in the Municipality has disclosed that the Engineering License Department in the Capital completed 2,979 engineering transactions in 2016 and the corresponding fees collected totaled KD16,844.
