Municipal Leaders Urged To Improve Work Or Face Reshuffle Or Retirement
The State Minister for Municipal Affairs Eng Walid Al-Jassem urged the need to enhance follow-up and accountability, calling on all municipal officials to intensify efforts and work achievement, “otherwise they should give way to the second row”, reports Al-Rai daily.
According to an official source from Kuwait Municipality, Al-Jassem, during the meeting he held earlier this week with the executive branch, expressed his dissatisfaction with the performance of some leaders and officials. He asked everyone at the meeting to go out into the field and achieve the desired rate of work from each sector and administration. He also specified and stipulated “implementation and accomplishment” as the two orders of work, stressing that anything short of those two principles will lead to reshuffling or retirement.
The source said, “During the meeting, Al-Jassim asked the deputy general managers, branch directors in the governorates, and heads of departments and sectors to make room for the second row of manpower in the event that they were unable to keep pace with the current situation. He stressed the need to increase the pace of field work and not be satisfied with the reports submitted to them.”
