Mps Angry At Government Decision, Saying People’s Livelihood Should Not Be In Jeopardy
As soon as the government made a decision yesterday to re-impose a partial curfew for a month from 5 pm to five am, starting Sunday, a number of MPs expressed their rejection of this decision, stressing that it is not the solution, as it is an improvised and ill-considered decision that exacerbates the economic crisis in the country, AL Rai daily reported.
They called on the government to strictly enforce the law on everyone, stressing that people’s health and livelihoods are not a place for experimentation.
MP Muhalhal Al-Mudhaf emphasized that the random imposition of the partial curfew does not limit the spread of the epidemic, but rather exacerbates economic and social problems, stressing that the failure of the government apparatus to implement the safety of precautionary measures will not be borne by the citizen.
For his part, MP Muhannad Al-Sayer said, “A month ago, I submitted a parliamentary question about whether the increase in cases was due to the salons and clubs that were closed? The government did not answer, but there was an increasing number of casualties.”
“Partial curfew is the solution?” Certainly not … The people are not punished because of the government’s inability to implement the law,”indicating that improvised decisions always have disastrous results.
He pointed out that the re-imposition of the curfew is an indication of a defect in the management of the crisis and the weak application of the law … “O Prime Minister, people’s mental health, livelihood, and interests are not a place to experiment, as countries are not managed randomly.”
As for MP Youssef Al-Fadala, he explained that there are frank economic and social challenges awaiting the new government, in light of the continued disruption of people’s interests and the enforcing of health precautions, including the partial curfew.”
He added, “There are many economic sectors whose business is suspended, and there are many benefits that the new government is required to implement. The interests of the people must be protected. What is happening in the state ministries and reducing the attendance rates of employees to 30 percent is unacceptable, not to mention that the start of the partial curfew hinders the interests of the country and the people.”
