Mp Queries Al-sabeeh Over Governmental Expenditures
Curious about governmental efforts in curbing misusage of public funds, MP Mohammed Al-Dallaal submitted a number of queries to Minister of Social Affairs and Labor and State Minister for Economic Affairs Hind Al-Sabeeh on the difference between the current governmental work plan and those of the past three years regarding governmental expenditures.
He asked if the plan contains guidelines that promote rationalization of public expenditures. He noted the secretary general of the High Council for State Planning recently disclosed that there are approximately 441 challenges in the current plan; so the MP requested documentation which explains such challenges and governmental authorities or other bodies, in addition to policies for overcoming challenges.
The MP then clarified that the government’s work and development plan is one of the pillars which push the country forward; thus, supervision over its progress is a necessity. He pointed out that cooperation between the legislative and executive authorities is needed to ensure progress.
On the other hand, MP Abdulwahaab Al-Babtain submitted queries to Minister of Education and Higher Education Hamed Al-Azmi regarding issuance of accredited certificates to students who graduated from universities abroad. He said he received a number of complaints regarding students who wait up to a couple of months for the Ministry of Higher Education to accredit their certificates, and that the delay was due to the cultural attachés in the concerned countries. He requested for elaboration of the issue and steps taken to correct it, as well as the ministry’s plan to prevent such complication in the future.
Furthermore, MP Askar Al-Anizi submitted a proposal to include a subject on narcotics and its dangerous effect on the youths in the curriculum. He explained that alongside comprehensive awareness campaigns, he believes this will greatly contribute to ongoing efforts to address the drugs issue.
