Mp Adel Al-damkhi Says Most Of The Ministries And Government Bodies Suffer From Bureaucracy And Red Tapes
MP Adel Al-Damkhi says most of the ministries and government bodies suffer from bureaucracy and red tapes that obstruct administrational procedures inside the ministries within its departments and external administration relations with other governmental bodies, reports Al-Qabas daily.
MP Al-Damkhi lamented that this phenomenon cripples the interests of the public and delays transactions for an extended period of time reaching several months. He said, “Despite individual efforts in some ministries and government bodies to reduce the red tapes, there is still an important need for radical solutions to solve such problems especially since several countries in the region have tried and succeeded”.
MP Al-Damkhi suggested the Government Performance Follow-Up Agency (GPF) and the Central Agency for Information Technology should be in charge of coordinating with relevant bodies of the government to work on reducing the red tapes and facilitate procedures in all ministries and government agencies within its internal departments or in its relations with other government agencies.
Al-Damkhi suggested merging all transaction procedures shared by various agencies in one location, which should be the main agency concerned with the transaction. He called upon linking transactions and procedures between all departments and concerned ministries, launching e-transactions, and obligating all ministries and government agencies to enforce and adhere to those instructions, as well as recording citations against agencies in case of negligence or slackness in this regard.
