Move To Reduce Quarantine Period To 7 Days

18 January 2021 Coronavirus

Health authorities are considering to reduce the home quarantine for those coming to the country to one week if the passenger is tested negative in the PCR test, local daily Al Qabas reported quoting sources.

The report added that the plan requires the arriving passenger to perform two PCR examinations, the first upon his arrival at Kuwait International Airport, and the second during the quarantine period. If both results are negative, the 7 days period will complete his quarantine in the country. A final decision is awaited in this regard.

The report also added that the decision to conduct a PCR test for all incoming passengers might start next Sunday. The airlines will charge the cost of PCR in addition to the ticket from the passengers. The delay is due to the preparation required to conduct PCR test for all incoming passengers at the Kuwait International Airport.
