Moi Has Deported 5,000 Expatriates In Last Two Months
The Ministry of Interior during the first two months of 2017 has deported 5,000 expatriates at the rate of 83 people per day, reports Arab Times daily quoting reliable sources.
Giving a breakdown, the sources said, Indians make the bulk of the deportees (25 percent), followed by the Egyptians 21 percent, Filipinos 15 percent, Ethiopians 14 percent, Sri Lankans six percent, and Bangladeshis five percent and the rest other nationalities.
These six nationalities account for 86 percent of the deportees and other nationalities 14 percent. The source added 300 people — 250 men and 50 women — are expected to be deported this weekend. The sources added unlike before the deportations are carried out immediately (within one week) once a suspect is sent to the deportation center. However, it depends on the availability of the air ticket.
