Moh To Spend Kd 152.6 Million For Hiring 4,294 Expats

Hiring 4,294 non- Kuwaiti employees in allied medical service positions within Ministry of Health over a period of five years cost a total of KD 152.6 million, reports Al-Rai daily quoting informed sources.

They explained that the ministry asked for the approval of Ministry of Finance to float the tender for providing employees to occupy allied medical service positions such as laboratory, X-ray and pharmacy technicians.

The tender divides the employees into six groups at a total cost of KD 152.6 million in five years. The first batch to be recruited will have 1,187 employees to work at Al-Sabah Health Area at a total cost of KD 41.96 million.

These positions include director, assistant director, four supervisors, 450 laboratory technicians, 130 blood sample takers, 467 X-ray technicians, and 134 pharmacy technicians.

The second batch to be recruited for hospitals in Hawally and Kuwait City will include 652 employees – a director, an assistant director, two supervisors, 340 laboratory technicians, 78 blood sample takers, 130 Xray technicians, 100 dental X-ray technicians, and 94 pharmacy technicians – at a total cost of KD 26.59 million.

The third batch allocated for Farwaniya Health Area includes 566 employees – a director, an assistant director, a supervisor, 200 laboratory technicians, 40 blood sample takers, 177 X-ray technicians, 60 dental X-ray technicians and 86 pharmacy technicians – at a total cost of KD 20 million.

The fourth batch allocated for Jahra Health Area includes 707 employees – a director, an assistant director, a supervisor, 220 laboratory technicians, 50 laboratory technicians (blood sample taker), 324 X-ray technicians, 30 dental X-Ray technicians and 80 pharmacy technicians – at an estimated total cost of KD 25.16 million.

The fifth batch for Mubarak Al-Kabeer and Ahmadi health areas has 774 employees at a total cost of KD 27.6 million. They include one director, one assistant director, two supervisors, 340 laboratory technicians, 60 blood sample takers, 250 X-ray technicians, 60 dental X-ray technicians and 60 pharmacy technicians.

The sixth batch has medical emergency technicians at a total cost of KD 11.24 million, and has a total number of 308 technicians including one director, six supervisors, and 300 technicians with bachelor’s degree.
