Moh Recovers Kd7.5 Million From Returning Kuwaiti Patients From Abroad

The Ministry of Health (MoH) was able to recover about KD7.5 million from patients who went abroad for medical treatment, and their companions that made use of the money at the end of the treatment period.

The daily reports, quoting sources, that these sums of money were recovered within 5 years, after implementing the clearance certificates system in 2016, and the Ministry’s legal affairs are looking into other financial demands within the same context.

The daily reports that requirements for clearance certificates for patients treated abroad was through online by entering the Ministry of Health website MOH.GOV.KW. Providing this service online aims to make things easy for the Kuwaiti citizen, so they don’t have to visit the Ministry, especially during the coronavirus crisis period. The audit process is also done online, and if there are any further clarifications, the people are notified directly to visit the ministry.

Regarding the importance of the clearance certificate, the daily reports that the sums disbursed to the patient and his companions are checked throughout the treatment period abroad, and any amount that was unlawfully disbursed are recovered after the patient’s scheduled treatment ends.
