Moe Take Decision On Termination Of Teachers To Be Enforced From Next Year
Assistant Undersecretary of Public Education Affairs at Ministry of Education Fatmah Al-Kandari says the decision to lay off 25 percent of expatriate teachers and replace them with Kuwaiti, GCC and Bedoun teachers will be enforced from the next academic year, provided those who are being laid off will be informed prior to the end of the current academic year, reports Aljarida daily.
Al-Kandari indicated that the Public Education Department is currently setting up regulations and conditions based on which the dismissal process will be carried out.
She explained that the conditions include dismissing teachers who have worked for longer years than others, those who are teaching subjects for which teachers can be found locally and using results of evaluation of the level of accomplishment made by the expatriate teachers. Al-Kandari added that the ministry is currently determining the subjects for which teachers can be found among Kuwaitis, GCC nationals or Bedoun in order to replace the current teachers within the coming few months
