Moe Finalizes Proposal For Introducing A 3 Stage Plan To Open Schools
The Ministry of Education (MoE) has put the final touches on the proposal to resume school, which will gradually be over three stages, starting with primary school and ending with secondary school, with a week between the educational classes and the others, and student attendance will be divided among the classes of one school to ensure there are less students in a class, Al Rai daily.
The meeting of the Board of Directors of the General at the Ministry, which discussed allowing students to return to schools, also considered the separation of students at a time between the school and the home by permitting one or two days of school attendance, and the rest pursuing online education system, provided that the number of students per class does not exceed 15 students.
Al-Rai daily said, quoting an educational source there is an agreement on the proposal that will be submitted to the Minister of Education and Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Saud Al-Harbi, for approval by the aforementioned mechanism, or vice versa, for the start of attendance for secondary school students, and then the intermediate and primary schools at the same time interval. It mentioned the proposal provides for the allocation of a day for the attendance of first-grade students, a day for the second and third grades, and a day for the fourth and fifth, in addition to specifying (online) classes for those who do not wish to attend classes and other registered (off-line) classes for students of the first three grades.
The source explained the meeting stressed the need to stipulate the demands for a safe, and daily school environment in accordance with health requirements, and to prepare for dealing with the various regulations imposed due to handle the coronavirus pandemic.
