MOE Bold Move To Empower Kuwait’s Education With E-learning

The Ministry of Education, chaired by Hessa Al-Mutawa, the Acting Assistant Undersecretary for Public Education, convened a meeting with directors from educational regions, the Coordination Department, educational affairs, the Information Systems Center, and the Development and Training Department. Also present was Al-Jazi Al-Otaibi, the head of the Technosoft Academy team for e-learning, in the General Office Ministry meeting room.

This comes as schools witnessed remarkable commitment from students who were keen to attend classes, despite today’s rainy conditions in the country.

The meeting discussed the plan to activate e-learning (virtual classrooms), which is provided by the Ministry of Education through Office 365 accounts available to all male and female students and members of educational staff, as well as the application of distance learning through the Teams program.

The meeting also covered the training plan for educational staff, mentors, school principals, and target groups, including the time schedule and training program.

The attendees shared their observations, opinions, and ideas on the plan, which was then submitted to Anwar Al-Hamdan, acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education, for necessary action.

The schools under the Ministry of Education observed a normal attendance rate among students, with limited absences at the usual level, and teachers showed a strong commitment to attendance.

Despite students attending their schools, both parents and teachers urged the Ministry of Education to implement more flexible and expedient plans for transitioning to distance learning during inclement weather or other emergency.

Kuwait University students also demonstrated commitment by attending various university sites, with the absence rate remaining at normal levels.
