Ministry of Commerce and Industry has summoned officials in charge of three cooperative societies for investigations over claims that the three cooperative societies had increased the prices of vegetables and fruits compared to the cooperative societies in other areas.

According to sources, the ministry’s inspectors referred a report to the ministry along with evidences about the violation committed by the three cooperative societies in increasing the price without justification.

They affirmed that the ministry will peruse the report it has received and will take legal actions against any cooperative society that intentionally hiked the prices of its commodities without any legal grounds.
