Ministry Discus Increasing Various Service Fees
The Ministry of Finance is in the process of holding meetings with concerned personnel from the ministries of Interior, Health, Social Affairs and Labor and the Kuwaiti Municipality, the General Administration of Customs and the services sectors to study the increase in fees for services offered by the government and raise in violations and citations fees to address the imbalance in the budget without affecting the people with limited income, Arab Times daily reported citing Al- Shahed Arabic news paper.
According to daily, one of the proposals discussed during the meeting was increasing the fees for traffic violations which is expected to be referred to the Cabinet for approval, the aim of which is to deter offenders.Â
Daily also reported that the Finance Ministry has requested the Ministry of Health to submit a study on increasing health insurance fees for expatriates to lessen the burden on the state treasury.Â
Ministry has also requested the General Administration of Customs to increase the value of tax to 20% on all imported goods and vehicles, daily added.
According to daily, the expected increase in fees will be applied at the beginning of next year after studying the issue from all aspects.Â
