Minister Praised For Tackling Cheating Mafia In Schools

14 May 2018 Kuwait

Several lawmakers expressed satisfaction with the procedures initiated by the Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr Hamid Al-Azemi to counter the ‘cheating mafia’ that threatens the entire education sector, reports Al-Shahed daily.

MP Waleed Al-Tabtabaei declared he’s solidly behind the minister in his effort to sanitize the system to wipe out the cheating mafia making waves in secondary schools, noting some principals and vice principals of those schools were in charge of operations while senior officials in the ministry were afraid of challenging the mafia, which endeavored to destroy the system.

He urged concerned authorities to stand firm against the mess that weakens the entire education sector, and craved stricter level of monitoring during exams.

He reiterated a review of data from one secondary school reflected the real percentage of success, which involved no more than 24 percent of the students.
