Minister Of Health Ordered An Investigation On A Number Of Emergency Doctors At The Amiri Hospital Were Watching A Football Match Instead Of Attending To The Patients
The Minister of Health Sheikh Dr Basel Al-Sabah has ordered an investigation into what has been circulated in the media according to which a a number of emergency doctors at the Amiri Hospital were watching a football match instead of attending to the patients, reports Al-Rai daily.
The daily quoting sources close to the minister said if found will be taken against the concerned medical staff. According to a statement issued by the hospital, a lot of doctors spend a lot of time at their workplace continuously and that what happened was during change of duty. “It is common knowledge that the emergency departments in hospitals are one of the most crowded medical departments throughout the year because of the nature of their work to attend to urgent and emergency cases around the clock.
As the patients wait around the clock all over the world for long hours for checkups, “we are proud of the emergency department of the Amiri Hospital provide emergency health services within minutes, because of the efforts of medical staff who are making double efforts to reach this standard,” said the statement. The statement added, “We would like those people to adopt more professional and legal methods to serve as role models in society instead of illegally photographing employees and attempting to defame health institutions.
