Men In Uniform Prevented From Sitting In Restaurants, Walking Around With Coffee Mugs

Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, Lieutenant-General Sheikh Faisal Al-Nawaf, has issued verbal orders for assistant undersecretaries to instruct securitymen that they should not sit in restaurants when in uniforms.

However, Al-Anba daily said, the circular does not prohibit securitymen from buying meals. The circular prevents securitymen on duty inside shopping malls or public places such as complexes from walking with coffee mugs or refreshment cups in their hands. They can eat or drink inside their offices.

Lieutenant-General Sheikh Al-Nawaf said the circular comes to protect the prestige of the security establishment so that men in uniform are not subjected to criticism.
