Kuwait Coast Guard foiled a drug smuggling operation by preventing entry of approximately 40 kilograms of hashish worth 150,000 Kuwaiti dinars. The General Administration of the Coast Guard, through its Maritime Security Department, intercepted a boat with five defendants attempting to transport narcotics by sea as part of the Ministry of Interior's ongoing efforts to combat drug dealers and smugglers. A task force from Kuwait's Maritime Security Department was deployed to monitor and investigate information about prohibited materials on a boat within Kuwait's territorial waters.

In the course of the interception, a jar containing around 40 kilograms of hashish, estimated to be worth 150,000 Kuwaiti dinars, was found. The defendants confessed to their involvement in drug smuggling after being confronted with seized evidence. Now that they have been referred to the appropriate authorities, they are undergoing the necessary legal procedures. In order to safeguard society from the dangers of narcotic substance trafficking, the Ministry of Interior reiterates its ongoing efforts to apprehend those involved.
