Lebanese Will Soon Receive Visas From Kuwait

17 April 2022 Visit Visa

Following the recovery of diplomatic relations between Lebanon and the Gulf states, particularly Kuwait, the Ministry of Interior is restoring visas to the Lebanese community after a five-month suspension.

According to a local Arabic daily, the return of the Kuwaiti ambassador, Abdel-Al Al-Qena'i, to Lebanon to resume his duties, as well as the Saudi ambassador to Beirut, signals the end of the crisis that erupted following former Lebanese Minister of Information George Qardahi's statements on the Yemen war.

According to the sources, the residence affairs offices in the six governorates are fully prepared to handle visa requests from the Lebanese community if a decision is made to reopen them, especially in light of recent favorable developments in the "Gulf-Lebanese" conflict dossier.

According to the sources, the process of reopening all types of visas for Lebanese will begin with commercial and government visas, followed by work visas, family visas, and finally, tourist visas, all of which will be subject to scrutiny by the State Security apparatus before being issued as per the normal procedure.

President Michel Aoun of Lebanon has stated that his country looks forward to improving relations with Kuwait and other Arab brethren.

The Lebanese presidency said in a statement that during his meeting with Kuwaiti Ambassador to Lebanon Abdel-Aal Al-Qina'i, President Aoun stated that what transpired on the level of Lebanese-Gulf ties was a passing phase.
