Lack Of Law To Punish Who Do Not Respect The National Anthem And Our Flag

01 September 2021 Kuwait

Nine years ago, we slammed MP Mohammad Hayef for refusing to stand up while the national anthem was being played, and that was a precedent. Today, MP Fayez Al-Jumhour was seen busy with his mobile phone while everyone next to him stood up to respect the national anthem that was being played to celebrate the successful removal of tires from the Arhiya ‘tire graveyard’.

We do not have a law to punish those who do not respect the national anthem and our flag. We suffice by saying ‘this is not the Kuwaiti culture; it is an imported culture that the world is facing everywhere’.
