Kuwaiti Father And Son Jailed For 6 Months For Attacking Securitymen While They Were Doing Their Job
The Misdemeanor Court acquitted an investigation team consisting of ten officers and securitymen from General Investigations Department who were accused of beating a Kuwaiti citizen and his son and causing damages to his house.
The court sentenced the citizen and his son to six month imprisonment for attacking securitymen while they were doing their job.
The Kuwaiti citizen, who is the plaintiff, explained that he received a phone call on the day of the incident from his son who said securitymen were chasing him. He told his son not to stop and to go home.
When the father went home, he saw a number of vehicles. When he asked an officer of rank “Lieutenant” about the reason why they are at his house, the latter hit him, cuffed him and pushed him into the patrol vehicle. He was taken to the police station where he was detained for three hours, threatened and insulted.
The plaintiff accused securitymen of breaking into his house, stealing objects and causing damages to the furniture. He indicated that he had received a threat previously from his brother-in-law via a phone call who said he would bring investigation officers to his house to punish him for preventing his sisters from working as actresses.
The defense counsel representing the entire members of the security force Lawyer Abdulmohsen Al-Qattan said the claims and accusations of the plaintiff lack supporting evidences.
