Kuwaiti Amir Pardons 706 Prisoners On National Day

The Amir of Kuwaiti Shaikh Sabah Al-Ahmed Al-Jaber Al-Sabah today issued a decree pardoning a group of 706 prisoners marking the 58th National Day and the 28th Liberation Day.

The Ministry of Interior said that 161 prisoners would be released on Monday morning (February 25) – 47 of whom are Kuwaiti nationals, Alqabas reported.

Under the decree, the jail terms will be slashed for 545 prisoners – 148 of whom are Kuwaiti citizens.
