Kuwait To Reach Herd Immunity

As the pace of vaccination has accelerated, health officials confirmed that Kuwait is close to achieving herd immunity, it is likely to vaccinate 70 per cent of its population within the next 2 months provided more doses of approved vaccine arrive in the country, Al Qabas reported.

The officials told the daily that the health authorities have made great efforts to control the spread of coronavirus. The worrying indicators have declined. There is a probability that normal life would to Kuwait in the next few weeks with the gradual reopening of commercial activities.

The rate of recovery from the virus compared to the size of daily infections reached 93.8% on April 27, compared with 93% on March 27, 2021, 93.8% at the end of February 2021, and 95.6% by the end of January 2021. 97.5% at the end of December 2020, and 95.4% by the end of November 2020.

The sources pointed out that the rate of recovery in the Arab Gulf states reached 96% in Saudi Arabia, 96.3% in the UAE, 90.7% in Qatar, 89.3% in the Sultanate of Oman, and 93.6% in Bahrain, as of Tuesday, April 27th.

The officials indicated that the Ministry of Health is following the latest treatment protocols recommended by international health organizations to treat patients with coronavirus and it is also monitoring the latest development in the field of vaccines
