Kuwait To Continue Distinguished Bilateral Relations With India

Ambassador of Kuwait to India H.E. Jasem Al Najem has said that the State of Kuwait under the wise and able leadership of His Highness the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Nawaf Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, will continue to maintain the same distinguished bilateral relations with India.

“Kuwait and India will continue to extend support and cooperation on issues of regional and international importance for the mutual interests of the two nations,” said the ambassador in a recent press release

He added that Kuwait has also deeply appreciated the gesture of Indian Government in announcing a one-day state mourning on 4 October, as well as suspending all official engagement and celebrations across India as a mark of respect to the soul of the late Amir of Kuwait. 

“The people of Kuwait thank the people and Government of India for the noble gesture and in sharing the grief and mourning on the death of late Amir Sheikh Sabah Ahmad Al Sabah,” Ambassador Al Najem said.

He also sent a letter of thanks to the Indian Minister for External Affairs Dr. S Jaishankar for his condolence visit to the Embassy and registering his statements in the condolence book, and attesting that the late Amir was exceptionally well regarded in India.

The new Amir of Kuwait is considered  among the most prominent political figures to have witnessed the process of building the state of Kuwait since it gained its independence in 1961, and as one of the contributors in laying the foundation and achieving the development of modern Kuwait.

His Highness the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al Ahmad Al Sabah is also hailed as the true founder and spiritual father of the Ministry of Interior having worked tirelessly in developing the integrated security system, in addition to modernising defense and security system of the country to maintain security and stability of Kuwait and its people.
