Kuwait Slashes Expat Teacher Housing Allowance

The Civil Service Bureau of Kuwait has slashed housing allowances for expatriate teachers by almost two thirds.

Under the new measures, foreign teachers working with the Ministry of Education will now be paid only KD60 per month, down from KD150.  

A CSB statement said that the allowance reduction is part of a string of government-led cost-cutting measures which aim to rationalize public spending.
