Kuwait Should Cut Expats Cars Older Than 10 Years

04 August 2022 Kuwait

An expert group formed to identify answers to the city's traffic issues advised reducing the number of foreigners who own cars that are more than 10 years old. According to a local source, the study found that there are thousands of vehicles that are between 10 and 20 years old that contribute to traffic congestion, produce pollution, and increase the danger of car accidents.

According to the survey, low-wage, marginal expatriate workers own the majority of those cars. The suggestion also fits with past recommendations made by the Environment Public Authority, which had demanded a solution to Kuwait's pollution issue brought on by outdated cars.
