Kuwait Reduces Gas Flaring To 0.5% For The First Time

13 April 2022 Kuwait

The Kuwait Oil Company set a new record by cutting gas flaring in the company's operations within the country to a record low of 0.5% for the first time.

This represents a reduction of half of Kuwait's goal to reduce the percentage to this level by the end of 2020/2021 of 1%, which reflects Kuwait's desire to keep pace with the continual development of the oil and gas industry worldwide, especially in environmental preservation, and in line with global concerns about climate change. The result of this achievement strengthens Kuwait's leading position as one of the leading oil and gas producing countries, according to a local Arabic newspaper.
