Kuwait Municipality Fired 132 Expats

A decision was issued by the Ministers of State for Municipal Affairs and Communications and Information Technology on the directives of the Ministers of State for Municipal Affairs and Communications and Information Technology. In a decision issued by the Director of Kuwait Municipality Ahmad Al Manfouhi, 132 expats from various sectors of the municipality were terminated. Including 37 employees in the Funeral Affairs Department which include washers of dead bodies, grave diggers, technicians which include 7 women. The termination list is divided in two, one with 69 names and the other 53 workers. Notice period of 3 months has been issued to these expat workers which ends on 2nd December.

The Kuwaitization of the municipality begins with this step. 33% of expats work in Municipality,  by July 1st 2023 will witness many more terminations. Expat contracts will be terminated in three phases between September 1st and July 1, 2023.
