04 June 2024 Hajj And Umrah

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is preparing to implement a set of measures to overcome all obstacles facing the first batch of pilgrims who are departing for Makkah early next week. According to sources at Kuwait International Airport, 76 flights will operate during the current Hajj (Pilgrimage to Makkah) season for the departure and return of Kuwaiti pilgrims.

The agencies operating at the airport, including DGCA, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, the General Administration of Customs, representatives of Hajj expedition offices, and ground service providers, meet periodically to discuss the operational plans for the movement of pilgrims from the time of their entry to Kuwait Airport until their arrival in Makkah. The pilgrims will be transported via four Kuwaiti and Saudi airlines.

The Kuwait Airways flights will be operated from terminal T4, Jazeera Airways flights will be operated from terminal T5, and Saudi Airlines and Flynas flights will be operated from the main passenger terminal T1.

The agencies operating at the airport will allocate special counters for pilgrims, and increase their number in order to facilitate all procedures for them. Offices for the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs will also be set up to provide the necessary medical services and guidance to pilgrims before their departure.
