Kttaa Lauds The Proposal For Institutional Quarantine For Passengers From Ban List As A Positive Step
The Kuwait Travel & Tourism Agencies Association (KTTAA) praised the recent proposal for allowing passengers to arrive in Kuwait from the countries on the 31 ban list on the condition they bear the expenses of institutional quarantine passengers as a positive step to reignite the travel sector, reports Al Rai. A study was announced that proposed cancelling the decision to ban passengers arriving into Kuwait from 31 countries in coordination with the health ministry and DGCA, instead introducing institutional quarantine in Kuwait.
KTTAA supported this decision, which they feel would stimulate the national airline sector, save the finances of 430 travel offices and allow Kuwaiti hotels to do business. This move will not force financial dues on Kuwait as the passenger will pay for everything from food to institutional quarantine of 14 days, especially if they wish to travel to Kuwait as many passengers do from the 31 country ban list.
KTTAA stressed that if this procedure is implemented, it will provide a boost to the start of the economy and accelerate the return to normal life plan. It is a healthier alternative rather than Kuwait negatively affecting its own economy, and ensuring the health conditions as mentioned by the Ministry of Health are implemented. Taking these positive steps will help significantly and will contribute to the transition to return to normalcy plan as many expats perform vital jobs in some sectors including education and healthcare.
