Koc Blues Continue To Dominate Field Hockey Championship
A display of skills and talents of the Kuwait Expatriate Hockey Associations’ elite players from six competing teams were on display as they played their group stage Field Hockey matches at the KOC Hockey Grounds. In a pleasant evening as the sun set at the Ahmadi Park, team Domnic Savio shared the spoils with KOC Greens ending the 48 minute duel with no goals scored.
In the second match on Friday, Kuwait Independence Hockey’s Sohail scored twice in the last quarter adding to Navdip’s 1st quarter goal. However, Kuwait Hockey Kings’ many valiant attacking moves did not find the net until full-time. In his message, Lawrence Alphonso, President of ‘International Red Hockey’ (host team), showed his appreciation towards KEHA and the progress of the championship until now and praised all the participating teams for displaying the most important element of ‘fair play’.
KOC Blues’ Mohammed Hosni and M. Abbas both scored twice while Mahmoud Abdulfatah’s single goal ensured KOC Blues beat International Red outright. The only goal for International Red, the hosts of this esteemed championship in Kuwait came off the stick of Lesley Subba in the very first quarter of the game.
The game was played with high intensity, with both sides displaying good attacking and defensive hockey. KOC Blues continue to remain at the top of the table with 4 wins off 4 matches played.
Oct 12 fixtures at the KOC Hockey Grounds, Ahmadi Park on Friday are as follows: 4pm – KIH v/s IRH; 5pm – KOC Blues v/s Domnic Savio. Should anyone be interested in playing or officiating Field Hockey matches, please feel free to contact Lawrence Alphonso on 66749174 or Kenan Lobo 65173898.
