Khaitan Campaign , 3548 Of Expatriates Were Verified , 1170 Arrested

Director General of Public Relations and Security Information Department at the Ministry of Interior Brigadier Adel Al-Hashash says the ministry has taken all necessary steps to ensure the country is safe and peaceful throughout the Independence and Liberation days, while the country celebrates 10th anniversary of the ascension of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah and His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah to office, says an Interior Ministry press statement. Brigadier Al-Hashash added security campaigns have been intensified to achieve the objective, citing a recent campaign conducted under the supervision of Ministry Undersecretary Lieutenant General Suleiman Fahad Al-Fahad in Khaitan that led to arrest of 3,548 suspects and outlaws, of which 1,170 are awaiting deportation.

Breakdown of arrests include 7 criminal offences and 52 civil offences. 117 residency law violators, 255 fugitives, 269 without identity cards, 218 expired residency visas, 227 marginal workers, 2 liquor traders and 12 public ethics violators, of which three have already been deported for public interest. Officers impounded 8 vehicles and released 2,378 people after verification of their documents.
