Indian Embassy Provides Free Ticket To Over 500 Kharafi Workers

Indian Embassy in Kuwait provided free air ticket to more than 500 distressed Indian workers from Kharafi Company to travel to India. Indian Embassy also gave conveyance allowance to these workers to reach their home form their nearest airport.

Indian Embassy is continuously following up the issue with relevant government agencies. Further talks are on with Public Authority for Manpower to settle the workers issue with the company. It is also learned that the steps are being taken to suspend company’s security deposit with ministry to settle the financial assistance for the workers.

Thousands of distressed Indians from Kharafi Company with expired residencies were fighting for months for their unpaid salaries and dues to travel back to India. Earlier India's external affairs minister Dr Gen V K Singh held series of discussion with Kuwaiti authorities to find a lasting solution for the issue of distressed Indian workers at Kharafi Company. Followed by this Kuwait government had announced amnesty where by the expatriates without valid documents can leave the country without paying fine.
