Hooliganism Decreases During National Holidays

26 February 2024 Kuwait

Lieutenant General Sheikh Salem Al-Nawaf, Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, disclosed that there was a reduction in hooliganism incidents during the national holiday festivities, with only four reported cases today.

Accompanied by the Undersecretaries of the Private Security and Traffic Operations sectors, he visited the security checkpoint at Sheikh Jaber Bridge to oversee preparations and ensure the execution of the security plan by Brigadier General Muhammad Taher, Director of Public Security Operations in Jahra Governorate.

Emphasizing the efforts to secure celebration venues, Al-Nawaf highlighted the Ministry’s meticulous planning over recent months, which included restricting licenses for mobile vendors and curbing the proliferation of motorcycles. He lauded the disappearance of mobile grocery stores that previously caused chaos, attributing this positive change to the public’s heightened awareness and compliance with educational messages disseminated by the Ministry’s security media. Al-Nawaf commended parents for fostering responsible celebration habits in their children, promoting mutual respect and shared enjoyment without disruption or violations during the national holidays.
