Heavy Rains Flood Many Areas In Kuwait
Winter sent an early warning Monday morning as streets in several parts of the country were flooded due to heavy rains, reports Al-Seyassah daily. The Monday incident unveiled the failure of concerned authorities to prepare for the season which has yet to begin, amid expectations that the country will continue experiencing rain in the next days according to the forecast of the Meteorological Department.
Heavy rains in various parts of the country such as the 10th area – Mahboula, Fintas, Hadiya and Riqqa in particular, flooded many streets which became marshes and halted traffic in the morning. Meanwhile, Meteorologist Issa Ramadan disclosed, “The rain that hit the country on Monday did not exceed 15 millimeters per hour, but the streets were overflowing.”
His colleague, Meteorologist Abdulaziz Al-Qarawi, expects the unstable weather condition to continue in the coming days due to Sudan’s low seasonal stretch. Al-Qarawi said the country is experiencing multiplication of low and medium clouds, accompanied by cumulus clouds with scattered rain and thunder
