Health Ministry Ready For National Assembly Elections With Comprehensive Health Services
With the National Assembly elections scheduled for Thursday, April 4, 2024, the Ministry of Health has announced its readiness to provide comprehensive healthcare services across electoral sites. Dr. Abdullah Al-Sanad, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Health, emphasized the completion of coordination and cooperation among relevant sectors to ensure the delivery of emergency and therapeutic healthcare services as per the established plan.
Preparations include the setup of 123 medical clinics at various electoral locations, both main and subcommittees, with approximately 655 health personnel scheduled to provide care. Staffing arrangements entail two shifts in subcommittees and three shifts in main committees, totaling 15 doctors, with three doctors assigned to each committee.
Dr. Al-Sanad highlighted the activation of emergency plans in public hospital departments, the readiness of sentinel health care centers, and the provision of essential medical equipment such as respirators. Additionally, 252 nurses, trained to handle emergency, have received special instructions for Election Day.
Support extends to voters with mobility issues, with the Ministry providing 500 wheelchairs to the Civil Defense Department at the Ministry of Interior for their assistance. Mobile medical bags have also been allocated for immediate treatment until patients can be transferred to clinics or medical facilities.
Ensuring food safety is another priority, with nine preventative teams formed to inspect central kitchens and hotels responsible for food provision for election participants. These teams, consisting of a preventive doctor, health inspectors, and a nutritionist, will monitor compliance with health requirements. Additionally, a dedicated team will address any food-related issues encountered during the electoral process.
As the nation prepares for this democratic event, the Ministry of Health remains committed to safeguarding the well-being of all citizens and participants involved in the electoral process.
