Gold Worth Rs 1.5 Crore Was Seized From Kuwaiti Passengers By Customs

Two airline passengers coming from Kuwait were arrested by officers of the Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) in Kerala. The gold had a value of more than Rs 1.5 crore.

First passenger Anandavally from Kuwait arrived at Cochin International Airport and Customs seized gold weighing 1706.950 gms, worth Rs. 90 lakhs concealed inside four capsule-shaped packets inside the female passenger's rectum.

The second incident involved a Kuwaiti passenger, Safeer, who was arrested for attempting to smuggle 1,089 grams of gold concealed in capsules.
