Giving Free Tickets Enhances The Brand, Kuwait Airways
The provision of complimentary tickets and additional baggage allowance has been Kuwait Airways' long-standing practice, viewed as a strategy to improve its brand image. The company clarified circulating information on social media by sharing an internal document that details the authority granted to the Chairman of the Board of Directors to allocate free tickets and excess baggage to individuals, government entities, and official agencies in response to circulating information on social media.
According to the airline, these discretionary powers have been used in previous years primarily to strengthen the brand. To dispel any potential confusion, the current Board of Directors has taken steps to formalize this practice in writing and has established a comprehensive and tightly controlled framework. Additionally, the Board mandated Kuwait Airways' relevant authorities to provide a quarterly report on complimentary tickets and excess baggage to regulatory bodies for thorough review and audit.
Kuwait Airways stressed that the authority is intended to serve Kuwait Airways' best interests and operates within defined parameters as well as addressing the Audit Bureau's observations.
