Getting Back To Work After Holidays

In the wake of the Eid Al-Fitr holiday, the Directorate General Administration of Civil Aviation completed its efforts in monitoring and streamlining passenger flow to and from Kuwait International Airport.t. The number of passengers estimated was 220,000, and the airport’s operation was reported to be smooth and efficient in both departures and arrivals. There were no reported delays or issues, including reservations, weight limitations, or baggage retrieval after arriving in Kuwait.

Many Kuwaitis who traveled for Eid holidays have extended their holiday to the weekend, planning to return next Friday or Saturday. Meanwhile, employees are expected to resume their work on 26th April, while students return to their classes, although some absences are expected, reports Al Rai. The daily monitored the movement of passengers returning from travel at Kuwait International Airport’s “T1” and “T5” Jazeera Airways buildings.

According to Mansour Al-Hashemi, Director of Operations at the Directorate General Administration of Civil Aviation, an integrated plan was implemented by various departments to facilitate the arrival of passengers after spending the Eid Al-Fitr holiday in several countries. Measures include opening passport counters, operating baggage belts at full capacity, and providing workers to load and deliver baggage to the arrivals area. These measures were aimed at avoiding congestion and ensuring a smooth movement of passengers.

According to Al-Hashemi, Kuwait International Airport is operating on schedule, with a plan developed in collaboration with airport authorities to keep up with the increase in passenger travel during occasions and seasons, both for departures and arrivals.

The Directorate General Administration of Civil Aviation for Planning and Project Affairs, Saad Al-Otaibi, said that all operational sectors of the airport were prepared for the Eid holiday, working closely with all governmental and non-governmental agencies operating there. The most popular travel destinations were Dubai, Istanbul, Cairo, and Doha, with high traffic observed over the past two days.

There were about 110,000 departures and 110,000 arrivals at the airport, and 1,800 flights were operating, including 900 departures and 900 arrivals.

The minister praised the efforts of all government agencies at the airport, particularly the Ministry of Interior and the General Administration of Customs as well as airlines and ground service providers.
