General Traffic Department: 1 Million Indirect Traffic Violations Within 5 Months
The officer of the Public Relations and Traffic Awareness Department at the General Traffic Department, Major Abdullah Buhassan, revealed that the statistics issued by the Planning and Research Sector of the General Traffic Department showed that the number of indirect traffic violations recorded during the 5 months of this year amounted to one million indirect violations, and about 250 violations Hourly recorded by traffic cameras.
Buhassan added, in a statement, that the statistic showed that traffic police and supporting security agencies referred 1,812 vehicles and motorcycles to the detention garage, with 1,371 vehicles and 441 motorcycles, noting that the Traffic Prosecution Department of the Violations Investigation Department referred 473 juveniles to the Juvenile Police Department, in preparation To refer them to the Juvenile Prosecution, after they were caught driving vehicles without obtaining driving licenses.He said that the traffic and operations sector continued to implement traffic security campaigns to prosecute negligents and perpetrators of grave violations that endanger the lives of road users, which resulted in issuing 33,211 traffic violations, impounding 333 vehicles and 5 motorcycles, and referring 66 violators to the General Traffic Department’s reservation glasses, as well as Referring 23 juveniles to the Juvenile Prosecution, seizing 10 vehicles wanted by security and judicial authorities, arresting 8 people wanted by the General Department for Criminal Execution and Civil Execution, and referring 4 people to the General Department for Drug Control.
Buhassan pointed out that the weekly statistics issued by the Traffic Operations Sector showed that the Traffic Operations Department ranked first in recording traffic violations with 8015 violations, and in the second place came the Hawalli Traffic Department with 7001 violations, then the capital with 6214, then Ahmadi 3836, then Farwaniya With 3453, then the Jahra Traffic Department with 2743, then Mubarak Al-Kabeer with 1072, and finally the Special Tasks Department, which recorded 877 violations.
He explained that the traffic patrols were able to seize 23 juveniles driving vehicles without obtaining a driver’s license, and they were referred to the General Department of Criminal Investigation, Juvenile Police Department, in preparation for their referral to the Juvenile Prosecution.
Buhassan stated that the General Department of Police Rescue carried out 337 security operations during the past week, and dealt with 26 traffic accidents, in addition to dealing with 33 people without identity proof, and the arrest of 3 cases of drug abuse, and the arrest of 4 people wanted by the security and judicial authorities.
