Explosion In Old Refinery Unit In Al-ahmadi, No Injuries

The National Petroleum Company (KNPC) announced that a fire had occurred in the ARDS Residual Oil Desulfurization Unit at Mina Al-Ahmadi Refinery, Reports Al-Qabus daily.

The company said in tweets via its Twitter account: “A fire broke out a short while ago in the ARDS desulfurization unit at the Mina Al-Ahmadi refinery, and the firefighting teams in the refinery are currently dealing with the fire, knowing that there were no injuries as a result of the accident.”

It added, “ARD unit No. 42 and all lines leading to it have been isolated, and the refinery’s fire brigades are still dealing with the accident.

The refinery’s operations and export operations were not affected, and the local marketing and supply operations of the Ministry of Electricity and Water were not affected by the fire.”
