Expect Hot Days, Cool Nights, And Thunderstorms In Kuwait

28 March 2024 Weather in Kuwait

The Meteorological Department has issued forecasts for the upcoming weekend, predicting a mixture of hot daytime temperatures and cooler nights, with the possibility of scattered light rain, potentially accompanied by thunder, starting the day after tomorrow, Saturday, until early Sunday morning. Following this, the likelihood of rain is expected to diminish by Sunday morning.

Director of the Department, Abdulaziz Al-Qarawi, provided insights to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), highlighting the prevailing weather patterns expected over the next few days. According to Al-Qarawi, weather maps and numerical models indicate that the country will experience the influence of a high-pressure air system, which is gradually expected to recede, allowing for the arrival of a surface air depression. This depression will be accompanied by a humid air mass, coinciding with an extension of upper atmospheric depression layers, leading to the proliferation of clouds, both low and medium, interspersed with cumulus clouds.

Today, Thursday is anticipated to be warm with light to moderate northwesterly winds, occasionally reaching speeds of 12 to 40 kilometers per hour. Some scattered clouds are expected, with maximum temperatures ranging between 28 and 29 degrees Celsius. The sea conditions are predicted to be light to moderate, with waves reaching heights of 2 to 6 feet.

Tonight, temperatures will drop, accompanied by light to moderate northwesterly winds, with speeds ranging from 10 to 32 kilometers per hour. Scattered clouds will persist, and minimum temperatures are forecasted to range between 17 and 19 degrees Celsius. Similar sea conditions are expected, with waves between 2 and 4 feet.

Tomorrow, Friday, the weather is expected to be hot and partly cloudy, with light to moderate northwesterly winds. Maximum temperatures are forecasted to range between 29 and 31 degrees Celsius, with the sea conditions remaining light to moderate.

Moving into Saturday, the weather will remain hot and cloudy, with variable winds transitioning to northwesterly. Chances of scattered rain, potentially accompanied by thunder, are anticipated, with maximum temperatures ranging between 29 and 31 degrees Celsius.

As Saturday transitions into night, temperatures are expected to drop, accompanied by cold and cloudy conditions. Light to moderate northwesterly to northeasterly winds are expected, with scattered rain likely to persist. Minimum temperatures are forecasted to range between 16 and 19 degrees Celsius, with sea conditions remaining light to moderate.

Residents are advised to stay updated on weather forecasts and to take necessary precautions as per the official recommendations.
