Expats Are Deported Immediately Under Article A16 Of The Foreigners Law
During the ongoing security campaigns in various parts of the country, a security source revealed that about 15,000 expatriates have been deported from Kuwait since the beginning of this year for various reasons, according to Al-Rai daily, following the activation of Article 16 of Kuwait's Law on Foreigners' Residence and arrests of violators. The Arabic daily quoting security sources stressed that the pace of deportation continues at the same level for everyone who is caught violating the law or does not have a known source of income. According to the security source, "the Ministry of Interior has begun implementing Article 16 of the Foreigners' Law, which stipulates the deportation of residents who are unable to sustain themselves, since many of those in this category have already been deported."
It explained how the ministry followed procedures: “After monitoring a lot of marginal workers and preventing visa trade, security campaigns focused on raiding random markets, seizing street vendors and customers who visited these places, and referring them to residence affairs investigations. This was in preparation for taking measures to deport them from the country, as they apparently do not have enough income to live a decent life in the country,” explaining that “the aim of their deportation is to prevent them from carrying out immoral or immoral acts.” He revealed that “the number of those who have been deported from the country from the beginning of this year until now, and after the intensification of security campaigns in the country, has reached about 15,000, most of whom are Asians and Arabs.
All residents were warned, “Even if their residence permits are valid, if they are caught in a violation of their laws, or if they are caught in random or illegal markets, they will be deported immediately.” These deterrent measures are being taken to control the labor market and ensure marginal workers do not find a place in the country, which has resulted in illegal practices and is a threat to the demographic structure.
