Expatriates' Amnesty Period Begins - Rectify Or Exit
Commencing today, the Residence Affairs Department has initiated the deadline for residency violators to rectify their status, either by settling fines or departing the country. This deadline, in accordance with Ministry of Interior regulations, extends until June 17.
Alseyassah/Arab Times has been monitoring the influx of visitors seizing this grace period at the Hawalli Residency Affairs Department.
Security sources have confirmed that recent statistics reveal a significant number of expats, ranging from 120,000 to 140,000, with expired visas of various nationalities residing illegally in Kuwait. Residency affairs departments across the six governorates, along with the Violators' Follow-Up Department within the General Administration of Residence Investigations, are facilitating violators or their sponsors in addressing violations or financial fines incurred.
